About Constance
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 29 years of experience in the mental health field. My background as a registered nurse has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of complex psychiatric conditions. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, trauma-related concerns, substance use, and autism spectrum disorders across the lifespan. I am committed to creating a compassionate, collaborative space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from Norwich University in Vermont. I utilize evidence-based, patient-centered approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-focused interventions, along with medication management when appropriate.
I believe healing begins with trust and open dialogue. I work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that build coping skills, resilience, and confidence. If you are ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, I am here to support you.

"As a woman of African decent, I understand that navigating mental health challenges can feel overwhelming, and I am here to listen and support you every step of the way."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because I witnessed my twin brother struggle with dyslexia throughout his life. Observing his challenges made me acutely aware of the complexities surrounding mental health and the significance of understanding individual hurdles.
His experiences ignited my desire to provide support, guidance, and resources for those facing similar obstacles. I recognized that mental health plays a vital role in how individuals cope with learning differences, and I wanted to empower others by becoming an advocate for their well-being.
Seeing the emotional and psychological impacts associated with dyslexia motivated me to foster resilience, build coping strategies, and promote an inclusive environment for individuals encountering such challenges.
Through my journey as a psychiatric provider, I hope to channel my empathy and insights into helping others navigate their own mental health journeys—much like my brother did—ultimately making a meaningful difference in their lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I find that I work best with clients who experience mood disorders, chronic schizophrenia, trauma-related disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Each of these areas presents unique challenges and requires a sensitive approach.
With mood disorders, I focus on helping clients navigate their emotional fluctuations and develop effective coping strategies. Working with individuals diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia enables me to support them in managing symptoms and enhancing their quality of life.
When it comes to trauma disorders, I emphasize creating a safe space for healing and recovery, utilizing therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual's needs. In serving clients within the autism spectrum, I prioritize fostering understanding and communication, allowing them to thrive in both personal and social contexts.
My goal is to provide compassionate care that empowers each client to manage their challenges and improve their overall well-being.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I will like patients to know that Healing takes time, and progress may come in waves rather than steady improvements.
