About Marcia
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of nursing experience and a strong foundation in mental health care. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health conditions.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. Healing begins with feeling heard, understood, and respected. I create a safe space where you can share openly and take an active role in care. Together, we build personalized, evidence-based plans that support emotional stability and lasting wellness. I encourage questions and honest dialogue.
I help clients reach their goals by combining careful assessment, medication management when appropriate, education, and ongoing collaboration. We regularly review progress, adjust treatment as needed, and focus on building skills and resilience that support long-term success.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My journey began with a passion for nursing and serving others. Working in diverse psychiatric settings deepened my commitment to mental health care. Becoming a PMHNP expanded my ability to provide compassionate, comprehensive treatment. I am also pursuing a Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism to broaden my expertise.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, Autism, ADHD, and psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. My focus is on improving daily functioning, emotional balance, and quality of life through thoughtful assessment and personalized care.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing takes time and is not a quick fix. There may be ups and downs during this process, and that is a normal part of growth. Progress may not always happen in a straight line, but every small step forward is important. Being present, honest, and actively involved are key parts of making change happen.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
A first session with me is thorough yet supportive. We discuss your history, current concerns, and goals in a relaxed, respectful environment. I complete a comprehensive evaluation, answer your questions, and collaborate with you on a clear plan for moving forward.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I provide personalized care by understanding each client's unique history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. I focus on the whole person, not just the diagnosis, when creating a treatment plan. This can involve managing medications, providing education, and offering support based on your specific needs. I also believe in working together. We regularly check in on how you’re feeling, what’s working, and what needs to change. Treatment is not the same for everyone, so I make careful adjustments to keep your care effective, personalized, and aligned with your goals.
