About Christianah
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with three years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I work with adults and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life transitions. My work is grounded in empathy and clinical expertise, helping clients navigate emotional and behavioral challenges with confidence. I’m passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel supported in achieving balance, understanding, and empowerment throughout their mental health journey.
I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, where I focused on psychiatric mental health care. My approach blends holistic and person-centered methods that encourage clients to explore their inner strengths while building the tools needed for emotional regulation, clarity, and well-being.
My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based support that fosters healing and personal growth. Together, we’ll create a collaborative plan that aligns with your unique goals and helps you move toward lasting emotional wellness.

"I’m dedicated to helping individuals heal and strengthen their mental well-being through compassionate, personalized care that honors their unique goals and values."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a DNP/PMHNP after working several years as an ICU and medical-surgical nurse. In critical care, I saw how closely mental and physical health are connected — not just for patients, but also for their families and care teams. Many patients faced anxiety, depression, or trauma alongside their illness, and I realized those emotional needs were often overlooked.
I was drawn to psychiatry because it focuses on the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. As a PMHNP, I hope to combine my critical care experience in assessment and crisis management with advanced psychiatric training to provide holistic, compassionate care that helps patients find stability, resilience, and a better quality of life.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Adult and geriatric
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is rarely linear — progress often comes in small steps, and setbacks don’t mean failure.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Active listening and empathy
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice as a DNP/PMHNP is informed by both my experiences as a nurse in critical care and my personal values of empathy, respect, and patient-centered care.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by first taking the time to understand each client’s unique history, strengths, and goals. I assess not only their symptoms but also their coping strategies, support systems, and personal values. From there, I combine evidence-based interventions with a flexible, client-centered approach — adjusting pace, techniques, and goals to meet where they are.
