About Marcia
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 22 years of psychiatric nursing experience. Since becoming licensed, I have worked with clients seeking compassionate support for challenges such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, substance use, and personality disorders. I focus on helping clients manage symptoms, gain insight, and improve their quality of life through evidence-based care, supportive therapy, and psychoeducation.
I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Walden University, where I built a foundation in evidence-based psychiatric care. My approach includes psychopharmacologic management, supportive therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients develop resilience, stability, and improved mental well-being.
With empathy and understanding, I provide personalized, compassionate care tailored to each client’s needs. Whether addressing mood disorders or other mental health concerns, I am committed to partnering with clients on their path toward healing and long-term wellness.

"Hi, I’m glad you’re here! I want you to know that I’m genuinely committed to listening, understanding, and supporting you every step of the way."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a nurse practitioner in psychiatry because I have always felt a deep sense of fulfillment and connection when caring for others. During my time as an RN student nurse, I felt particularly comfortable and confident, especially after my professor noted the empathetic and compassionate manner I shared with mental health patients. Most of my nursing career has been spent as an RN in psychiatry, where I developed a strong passion for mental health care and wanted to expand my ability to make a difference. This inspired me to transition into a psychiatric nurse practitioner role, allowing me to provide more comprehensive, personalized treatment and support to my clients.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work well with a wide range of clients and have no specific preference. My goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care to anyone seeking support, whether they’re facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, or other mental health challenges. I believe every individual has the capacity for growth and healing, and I’m committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for all clients, regardless of background or age.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited about working with clients who are open to growth and healing, regardless of age — from 10 to 99. I enjoy supporting adolescents navigating life transitions, adults facing mental health challenges, and older adults seeking to improve their well-being. I provide supportive therapy, incorporating some CBT techniques and psychoeducation to help clients understand their feelings and develop effective coping skills. Each age group brings unique experiences and perspectives, and I love helping clients of all ages discover their strengths, build resilience, and thrive. Whether it’s a teenager exploring their identity or an older adult embracing new chapters, I’m passionate about guiding them on their journey to wellness.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Professional achievement and success motivate me to continually develop my skills and expand my impact. My passion for mental health and learning drives me to overcome challenges and pursue knowledge. The support of my family, loved ones, and role models inspires me to stay focused and committed to my purpose. What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session with me, clients can expect a welcoming and compassionate environment where they feel safe to share their story — no judgment here, just a friendly ear and maybe a few good questions. I’ll start by building rapport, like chatting with an old friend, and listening carefully to understand their concerns, mental health history, and goals. I may ask about symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and previous treatments — kind of like piecing together a mental health puzzle (but don’t worry, I’ll help fit all the pieces together!). Together, we’ll identify their needs and discuss potential treatment options, including therapy, medication, or lifestyle tweaks. My goal is to establish trust while keeping things light and real, making sure clients feel supported and understood — and maybe even leave with a smile or a bit of hope from our first chat.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session with me, here’s a little something you should know — I’m a dedicated PMHNP who takes mental health seriously, but I believe a little humor and a warm attitude go a long way. I’m passionate about helping you find your path to wellness, and I’ll always treat you with respect, kindness, and a dash of patience — because everyone’s journey is unique, and I’m here to walk it with you. So, if you’re looking for a professional who values your story, respects your pace, and believes that sometimes laughter is the best medicine (alongside therapy and medication), then we’re a good match. Don’t worry, I won’t expect you to be perfect — I’m definitely not!
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For fun on my time off, I love spending quality time with my family, especially my beautiful two grandchildren — they keep me young and bring so much joy into my life. I also enjoy traveling locally with friends, exploring new places, and creating memorable experiences. Whether it's a day trip or a weekend getaway, I cherish these moments of connection, relaxation, and adventure. These activities help me recharge, stay grounded, and bring a little more happiness and balance into my life
