Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and everyone deserves compassionate, evidence-based care. I am passionate about helping people navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and mood disorders while empowering them to regain hope, resilience, and a sense of balance. Building meaningful therapeutic relationships and partnering with patients as they work toward improved mental wellness is the most rewarding part of my career.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who value a calm, steady therapeutic presence and appreciate a thoughtful blend of therapy and medication management. I’m especially effective with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD and major life transitions who want a provider who listens deeply, honors their experience, and supports them in building resilience and meaningful change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing isn’t about perfection or quick fixes. It’s a gradual, compassionate process where small steps create real change. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin; showing up as you are is enough, and growth happens gently over time.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming space where we take time to understand their story, explore what brought them in, and clarify their goals at a pace that feels comfortable. Early sessions focus on building trust, creating a shared plan for care, and helping clients feel grounded and supported as we begin working toward meaningful change.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is grounded in a deep respect for people’s experiences and the belief that healing happens when someone feels genuinely seen and understood. My own experiences with navigating change, supporting others through difficult seasons, and witnessing the strength people carry inform the calm, steady presence I bring to sessions. These values guide me to listen closely, honor each person’s story, and help clients move toward growth with compassion and clarity.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe every person is unique, so I tailor therapy by taking the time to understand each client's experiences, strengths, goals, culture, and preferences. I use evidence-based approaches, including supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation, while adjusting treatment to meet each individual's needs. I collaborate closely with my clients, regularly assess their progress, and modify the treatment plan as needed to ensure they feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
