Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because I have always been deeply passionate about helping people navigate life’s emotional and mental health challenges. I recognized early on the profound impact that compassionate, quality mental health care can have on an individual’s ability to heal, grow, and live a fulfilling life. Seeing how mental health conditions can affect not only individuals but also their families and overall wellbeing inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference. I was drawn to psychiatry because it allows me to combine clinical expertise with empathy and human connection, helping patients feel heard, supported, and empowered. My goal as a psychiatric provider is to create a safe and trusting space where individuals can receive evidence-based care, gain insight into their struggles, and work toward emotional wellness, resilience, and lasting stability.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents, and adults who are seeking compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based support for a wide range of mental health challenges. I am particularly wellsuited to work with individuals experiencing Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PostTraumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, mood instability, emotional dysregulation, and other complex psychiatric concerns. I work especially well with clients who are motivated to better understand their mental health, develop effective coping strategies, improve daily functioning, and actively engage in their treatment journey. My approach is ideal for individuals and families looking for a supportive, nonjudgmental provider who values collaboration, individualized care, and long-term emotional wellness.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I want my clients to know that there is help out there. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and meaningful change happens through patience, consistency, and self-compassion.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we discuss their concerns, symptoms, history, and treatment goals. The early stages of treatment focus on building trust, gaining a clear understanding of their needs, and developing an individualized care plan to support symptom management, healing, and progress.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by empathy, respect, and a strong commitment to compassionate, patientcentered care. Having family members with mental health disorders has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges individuals and families face, and it strengthens my dedication to providing supportive, nonjudgmental treatment that promotes healing, dignity, and hope.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor care by first completing a thorough psychiatric evaluation to understand each client’s symptoms, history, strengths, and goals. From there, I develop an individualized, evidence-based treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy techniques, and practical coping strategies. I adjust the approach over time based on progress, feedback, and changing needs to ensure care remains personalized and effective.
