About Esther
I am Esther L. Pelissier, a dual board-certified psychiatric nurse and family nurse practitioner. During my time in healthcare, I've worked with clients aged 10–80 struggling with adjustment disorder, depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and more. I believe everyone deserves to feel comfortable asking for help with their mental health, regardless of background. My goal is to create a judgment-free space where you can openly share concerns and feel heard. I strive to make every visit collaborative by building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients. I take time to understand your individual needs and work with you to create a treatment plan fitting your goals and lifestyle.
One of my biggest strengths is listening. Being heard is the foundation of meaningful care. I value consistency and planning, which help me stay present and focused on your needs. You'll always be met with kindness, respect, and dignity. My expertise is in treating ADHD, depression, and anxiety. With proper treatment, these are manageable or overcome.
Together, we can move through your mental health journey at a pace that feels right for you, adjusting care as needs evolve. No matter where you are on your journey, you don't have to face it alone.

"Although reaching out for help is not easy, you don’t have to navigate your mental health struggles alone. As a woman of color, I understand what it feels like to constantly search for belonging. Today, I utilize these experiences to build the same resilience within others."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because my paternal great grandmother was schizophrenic. At that time, she did not have access to mental health care or treatment. It was a struggle for the entire family. I realized that becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner means I could help others find peace despite their struggles; I want to make a difference by providing high and compassionate quality care and hopefully improving the quality of life of people suffering from mental illnesses, showing clients that mental health struggles are nothing to be ashamed or silent about.
What types of clients do you work best with?
All types of clients are welcome to work with me, regardless of age, race, sexuality, or religion. I specialize in people who struggle with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. However, I would appreciate it if clients were active participants in their care process, showing up consistently to appointments and diligently continuing treatment between sessions.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I want all my clients to know that the healing process is not linear. Therapy is never an instant fix, and requires time, dedication, and effort before you may feel like you are improving. Some days, your mental health may feel like it’s taking a turn for the worst, and that is completely okay. It doesn’t erase all the progress you made in therapy.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During the first session, clients should expect us to build a professional care plan together. As your provider, I am dedicated to listening to your questions and concerns and will update care as necessary.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I believe that every person has a right to affordable and highest quality mental health care. I aim to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where my clients and their concerns are acknowledged.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
My approach to providing care is focused on reassurance and compassion. There is no need to fear asking for help, as care is personoriented, and we will move at the pace you're most comfortable with. We will work together to develop a treatment plan best suited to you.
