About Mitchelee
Mitchelee Dunbar is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with years of experience in behavioral health in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. She diagnoses and treats a wide range of mental health concerns with a holistic and comprehensive approach. She has experience treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, trauma, adjustment disorders, and mood disorders. She provides quality, compassionate, patient-centered, and culturally sensitive mental health services to adult clients.
Mitchelee completed her undergraduate education at Empire State College and her Master's degree in Nursing at Stony Brook University with a focus on providing comprehensive, culturally competent care to diverse populations. Mitchelee has a keen insight into the needs of others. She is able to listen attentively and identify and address the challenges you are facing.

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?
I was inspired to become a psychiatric provider after several years of working in Mental Health, I observed that there was a need for skilled and compassionate providers. My goal is to help provide competent and empathetic mental health treatment to help clients achieve emotional wellness and improve interpersonal relationships.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I am passionate about working with clients with a wide range of emotional and mental health issues in a holistic way.

I am excited to work with clients looking for a knowledgeable, empathetic provider who provides a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all my clients knew that addressing emotional health can be the key to finding balance in their interpersonal life.

My approach to practice is holistic. I view the whole person and not just their symptoms.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
When I am not working I enjoy reading, watching movies, going for walks, and spending quality time with my family.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am very family oriented.
Does Mitchelee prescribe medications effective for the treatment of ADHD?
Yes - when clinically appropriate, Mitchelee may prescribe both non-stimulant (all ages) and stimulant (adults only) medication for the treatment of ADHD.
