What types of clients do you work best with?
I became a psychiatric provider because I believe mental health care can change the course of a person’s life. I have always been drawn to helping people feel seen, heard, and supported during some of their most difficult moments. My work allows me to combine compassion, clinical expertise, and advocacy to help clients better understand themselves, manage symptoms, and move toward healing, stability, and hope.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing is not about being "fixed"—it is about growth, self-understanding, and learning new ways to navigate life's challenges. Progress is rarely linear, and setbacks do not mean failure. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and meaningful change can happen when you feel supported, empowered, and willing to take one step at a time.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where we discuss their concerns, symptoms, personal history, and goals for treatment. My priority is getting to know the whole person, not just the diagnosis. In the early stages of therapy, we work together to develop a treatment plan, identify strengths, build coping strategies, and establish a foundation of trust that supports meaningful and lasting progress.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is grounded in the values of compassion, respect, authenticity, and service. Throughout my career as a psychiatric provider, educator, and community advocate, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of challenges. These experiences have reinforced my belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, empathy, and without judgment. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I recognize that no two individuals have the same experiences, strengths, or goals. I tailor treatment by taking the time to understand each client's unique circumstances, preferences, cultural background, and personal values. Using a collaborative approach, I integrate evidence-based interventions and adjust strategies as needed to ensure treatment remains relevant, effective, and aligned with the client's goals and progress.
