Experience effective therapy with a counselor or therapist in Fort Lauderdale

Consider every major area of your life: your relationships, your career, your personal goals. Are there improvements you can make? Say, the way you communicate with your significant other when you’re frustrated, or the way you approach stressful assignments at work. Or, perhaps, it’s your approach to goal-setting.

Here at Thriveworks, we believe that everyone can benefit from working with a caring, skilled mental health professional. A therapist, counselor, life coach, or psychiatric provider at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Fort Lauderdale can help you with whatever concerns you have. They can also help you manage symptoms of a potential mental illness, resolve negative patterns, adjust during a major life transition, excel in your career, and so much more.

If you think that you could benefit from working with a therapist at Thriveworks, give us a call. Our scheduling specialists are happy and eager to assist you, whether you’re looking to schedule an in-person counseling session or an online counseling appointment.

What Is the Difference Between Therapy, Counseling, and Psychiatry?

Therapy, provided by our counselors and therapists, addresses emotional and behavioral challenges using therapeutic techniques for mental well-being. Counseling, offered by counselors or therapists, focuses on specific issues and life adjustments, while psychiatry, led by our psychiatric nurse practitioners, involves diagnosing and treating mental health conditions with medication.

What Are the Types of Therapists You Can See?

While availability may vary, at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry, we offer:

  • Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs): Trained to provide mental health counseling.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs): Specialized in social work and counseling for individuals, families, and groups.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs): Focused on relationship and family-related issues.

When you connect with a provider at Thriveworks, you’ll be sharing your experience with an industry-leading expert; someone with the experience and professional insight you need to move forward.

  • A wider selection of therapists to choose from

The benefits of in-person therapy include:

  • Face-to-face interaction and non-verbal cues
  • No reliance on internet connection or technology
  • Privacy and confidentiality in a physical office

Signs I Should Go to Therapy

Some of the signs you might benefit from therapy or psychiatric services include:

  • Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or hopelessness
  • Difficulty managing and coping with daily stress
  • Strained or troubled relationships with family, friends, or partners

  • Communicate openly and non-judgmentally
  • Offer support and encourage them to seek professional help
  • Research and connect them with appropriate resources
  • Be patient and maintain a supportive presence throughout their journey to recovery

More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.

Speak to an Experienced Psychiatrist at Thriveworks

Psychiatrists and psychiatric professionals look at mental illness from a medical perspective. Having earned a medical degree and completed years of additional study of mental illnesses, they can treat a wide variety of mental health issues while considering the overall health of the client.

Diagnosis of mental and emotional disorders can be incredibly complex. Psychiatric providers work with each client to customize a treatment plan that best fits their unique situation. If your treatment calls for medication, your psychiatric provider will be able to prescribe the medication and work with you to handle dosage and any side effects.

If you’re struggling with a mental illness, it may be hard to imagine a way out. However, the licensed psychiatric nurse practitioners at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Fort Lauderdale are here to offer effective treatment and guidance via online psychiatry.
