Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I initially worked in the crisis-intervention field where I would form connections with clients, but would ultimately refer them to a counselor to receive long-term support. While I enjoyed this role, I became a counselor because I wanted to be able to collaborate with clients more and help guide them through the healing process.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that therapy is a safe space where they do not have to worry about being judged.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks truly cares about making sure clinicians and clients are receiving the support they deserve.
What inspires you?
My clients' bravery to be vulnerable and seek help.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
At the end of the first session I want to check-in with the client to ensure they feel comfortable moving forward with me as their counselor, and collaborate with them to establish some goals for treatment.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
On my time off, I enjoy going to the movies, trying new restaurants, taking my dog for walks, and watching reality TV shows.
