About Dayton
Dayton Olsen is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 8 years of experience. He specializes in supporting individuals of all ages through substance use/addiction, mood disorders, serious mental illness, trauma/PTSD, and stress-related conditions. Dayton has a diverse background in community healthcare settings. He takes the perspective that most emotional and mental pain is a result of emotional injury or unresolved emotion and by extension, talk therapy is something that facilitates the mind and body’s natural healing process.
Dayton graduated from Radford University with a Master of Science in Counselor Education. He utilizes existential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, person-centered therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and motivational intervewing. Dayton is only providing EMDR in-person at this time.
Dayton is currently taking new patients and is looking forward to connecting with you in the first session! When you are ready to begin, Dayton is ready to support you.

"Psychotherapy isn’t a twentieth-century artifice imposed on nature, but the reinstatement of a natural healing process."
