About Moira
Moira McCormick is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 8 years of experience. Moira specializes in working with children and adolescents dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, anger, and life transitions. She also has extensive experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
Moira completed her Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology at Immaculata University. Within a therapeutic setting, she emphasizes healthy relationships and she believes the key to that is incorporating parents and/or caregivers into treatment. In addition to outpatient counseling, Moira works as a school therapist in a local public middle school. She is very much aware of the stress that exists in the school environment (both social and academic). Moira enjoys helping adolescents discover their true potential and overcome obstacles that they are faced with.
Moira is warm, humorous, and original in her approach. She is able to highlight positive qualities within individuals and provide tools and creative ways to incorporate these qualities into everyday life. Moira believes that everyone deserves to live the life they desire. Oftentimes, you just need a reminder of your self-worth and a refresh of therapeutic tools.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to be a counselor because I truly make it a point to see the best in people, while helping them reach their best potential. Often times, people just need small refreshers and reminders of the skills that can help them be the best version of themself.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Clients that are eager to make changes and break old habits.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Clients who are not afraid to step outside of their comfort zone to make some changes and put in the work!
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy is a process and a journey. Mistakes are welcome and encouraged. They help us grow.
What inspires you?
Clients putting in effort and committing to the therapeutic process.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect to learn how the therapeutic process works and what to expect within treatment. I also like to learn as much as I can about the client and reasons they are seeking out therapy. Questions are always welcome within this session as well!
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want clients to feel comfortable with me and the process. I also would like clients to understand how the therapeutic process will look and answer any questions clients may have.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Love love love spending time with my two golden retrievers!
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
Consistency. I appreciate consistency in all areas of my life.
