Elizabeth Woods literally saved my life. The journey we have been on with her sharing her insight and her immediate understanding of my issues and background has been revelatory. To be perfectly honest, I don't know what I would have done had I not found her. Her knowledge and perspectives are incomparable. She has taken me by the hand and helped me understand who I am and why I am who I am. Anyone who becomes her client is fortunate (as I have been) to have found a unique person with a vast amount of kindness, compassion, patience, and dedication with the capacity to be stern when needed yet so very empathetic .She has superior problem-solving abilities and is supportive and transformative. She is simply the best.

Get to know Elizabeth
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have always had a passion for helping others. There have been times in my own life when I just needed someone to help me "figure" it out in a safe and non-judgmental way. I believe everyone experiences those times as well.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with clients who are eager and engaged in wanting to improve their own personal wellness.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That many of the tools they need to manage their own mental fitness already exists within them. For example, learning the art of mindfulness and self acceptance. For many clients it is a matter ot "tapping" into and learning how to use their own internal resources.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to work at Thriveworks as I believe their core values are in line with my own. Being able to help and support people is important and meaningful work which I believe Thriveworks supports through its practices.
What inspires you?
I love it when my clients have been struggling with an issue and then experience that moment when things begin to "click" for them. They get excited for the small changes they begin to make which encourages me that we are on the right path.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
It is important to begin to build a relationship. Getting to know that individual and building a rapport of support and trust.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would like to explore the issues and concerns that brought them to Thriveworks so we can begin discussing a plan of action so we can begin to make incremental steps towards change.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I am honest and have been told I have a good sense of humor. I like to use analogies and break down concepts for my clients so they can relate to how concepts and skills can be applied in their own lives to improve their wellness.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy reading, exercising, spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy traveling and learning new things.
