Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I’ve always been interested in human interactions, why people think a certain way and behave in a certain manner. It wasn’t until I suffered from my own traumatic experience, and didn’t receive help until 2 years after, that I discovered how much mental health really impacts every area of our lives. I knew then that my purpose was to serve others in that capacity!
What types of clients do you work with best?
My niche is usually adults and adolescents. I love working with women and also individuals who identify with a minority cultural background.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m excited to work with clients who are ready to make a change, but also put in the work!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I want clients to come into counseling on a realistic note. Discipline will get you way further than motivation, because motivation comes and goes. Therapy isn’t magic! It’s a collaborative process that only works when you’re willing to take your necessary steps outside of sessions.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because I agree with their mission. They cater to clients through their accessibility and prioritize creating a smooth experience.
What inspires you?
What inspires me is knowing my purpose and reaching the goal of internal peace.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect a warm and inviting clinician who understands this may be difficult but it already proud of you for taking the first step!
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would like to get to know the client and their goals for therapy in the first session. I want to make sure we can connect and see if the client wants to move forward with me.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Clients should know that I am not here to judge you and the only way to make progress is to be honest with yourself then honest with me. I am here as a guide and support.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
My favorite hobby is traveling. I also love anything fashion! I like to explore and spend time with friends and family.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My voice and style defines me. How I carry myself. I’m me. Not perfect but accountable and intentional about growth.
