About Ayme
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 3 years of experience helping individuals navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. I provide a warm, supportive, and goal-focused environment where clients can explore their emotions, strengthen relationships, and develop healthy coping strategies. My approach emphasizes personal growth, self-compassion, and emotional balance while creating space for hope and healing along the way.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana. I integrate evidence-based practices with a compassionate and faith-informed perspective when desired, helping clients find balance and peace through a personalized, holistic approach to mental health and emotional wellness.
I believe that seeking help is a courageous step and that true healing begins in a safe, nonjudgmental space. I strive to make clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate anxiety, loss, or major life changes. Together, we’ll work toward emotional growth, inner peace, and a renewed sense of purpose and self-acceptance.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Ayme decided to become a counselor because she has always been drawn to helping others find hope and healing during difficult seasons of life. Through her own experiences and witnessing the power of compassion and understanding, she developed a passion for walking alongside people as they work through pain, rediscover purpose, and build healthier ways of thinking and living. Counseling allows her to combine empathy, faith, and evidence-based practice to help others find peace, clarity, and renewed strength in their journey toward emotional and spiritual well-being.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I decided to become a counselor because I’ve always had a deep desire to help others find hope and healing during difficult seasons of life. Through my own experiences and seeing the difference that genuine compassion and understanding can make, I felt called to walk alongside people as they work through pain, rediscover purpose, and build healthier ways of thinking and living. Counseling allows me to combine empathy, faith, and evidence-based practice to help others find peace, clarity, and renewed strength in their journey toward emotional and spiritual well being.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with clients who are ready to make positive changes but may feel unsure of where to start. I enjoy helping people who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or life transitions find hope, balance, and purpose again. I especially value working with clients who want to integrate faith into their healing journey, using both practical tools and spiritual growth to build lasting emotional wellness.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that healing takes time, and progress doesn’t always look like a straight line. Every step forward, no matter how small, is meaningful. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start therapy; showing up and being honest about where you are is enough. Growth begins with giving yourself permission to heal at your own pace.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because their mission aligns with my heart for helping people access quality, compassionate care without long waits or unnecessary barriers. Thriveworks values client-centered, evidence based therapy while also supporting clinicians with the tools and community needed to provide excellent care. I appreciate their focus on accessibility, collaboration, and creating a welcoming environment where clients feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by seeing people find strength in themselves that they didn’t know they had. Watching clients overcome fear, heal from pain, and begin to believe in their own worth again reminds me why I do this work. I’m also inspired by faith, connection, and the resilience of the human spirit, how even in the hardest moments, growth and renewal are possible.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In our first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming space where they can share what brought them to counseling at their own pace. I’ll ask questions to better understand their background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. Together, we’ll begin identifying what they’d like to work on and discuss what approaches might be most helpful. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable, heard, and hopeful about taking the next step in their healing journey.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, my goal is to build trust and create a safe, comfortable environment where the client feels heard and understood. I want to learn what led them to seek counseling, what they hope to accomplish, and what support feels most helpful to them. By the end of the session, I aim for us to have a shared understanding of their goals and to begin laying the groundwork for meaningful progress and healing.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Clients should know that I take a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to counseling. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a safe partnership built on trust and honesty. My style is collaborative and down to earth. I meet clients where they are and help them build the tools and confidence to move forward. For those who wish, I also offer faith-based counseling, integrating spiritual principles with evidence-based techniques to support healing and growth.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my family. I love being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, walking in nature, or exploring new places. I also enjoy baking and find it relaxing and creative. My faith is an important part of my life, and I stay involved in my church, especially in the music ministry and children’s department, which bring me a lot of joy and purpose.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my genuine compassion for others. I naturally look for the good in people and try to create connection and encouragement wherever I can. My faith, family, and love for helping others guide how I live and interact with the world. I strive to approach life with kindness, gratitude, and a sincere heart for making a positive difference.
