Sha-Londa Neely is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with 4 years of experience in the mental health field. Sha-Londa completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Jacksonville University. Her life and professional experiences equipped her with the necessary tools to support and guide her clients to achieve their goals. She provides a safe, judgment-free environment for her clients to share and explore who they are or want to become.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I knew my personal experiences would help me transform the lives of others. I also realized that there was a need for more women of color in the field.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients ready to work and invested in the journey to wellness.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with any client willing to be transparent and open to the possibilities that await them on the other side of their challenges.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that their is no shame in their life experiences and that they are not alone.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of the people I have encountered. They provided the family-oriented environment and support I was seeking.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by others achieving their goals. My story also inspires me.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect to feel welcomed, safe, and free.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I want to establish the expectations from the client and therapist. I also want to address any concerns the client may have. I want to begin building a rapport with the client and understand why the client is seeking therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am transparent, energetic, non-judgmental, and willing to meet you where you are.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to spend time with my family at the park or creating crafts.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My personality makes me stand out.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
I had a client that was overwhelmed with her responsibilities and perfectionism. She struggled with anxiety and depression. I was able to help this client reduce her anxiety and improve her work-life balance. This client has managed her stress more effectively and regained joy in her life.
