Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have always known that no matter what career I pursued, I wanted it to be a profession where I could help others. Fast forward through personal experience, a lot of soul-searching and a great education, and I found what I was looking for through being a counselor!
What types of clients do you work with best?
I am confident that I can meet anyone where they are at and that together we can get them to where they want to be in there journey!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish that every person knew that no matter what experiences, traumas, and/or setbacks they've experienced, they are fully capable of finding freedom and healing in a way that significantly improves their quality of life.
What inspires you?
Getting to see the hard work my clients put in and having the privilege of seeing them reach their goals inspires me to be the best counselor I can possibly be.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
By the end of the first session, I hope to have established a genuine connection with my client and have them leave feeling more encouraged and better about the process than when they came in.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
On my time off, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I am very much a people-person, so time spent in the company of others is never time wasted! I also enjoy reading to sharpen my craft as well as for pleasure. I am a huge board/card game fanatic (as evidenced by a small game collection). Lastly I enjoy participating in outdoor activities such as surfing, paddle boarding, wakeboarding, roller-skating, and organized sports.
