Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I’ve always been drawn to helping people see themselves in the ways others see their strengths too. I’ve always wanted to sit with the parts of self that were not always acknowledged. I always knew there was something more happening in the shadows and that perhaps more light could be offered to the places within us that felt darker. I decided to become a counselor because I love seeing and tracking my clients grow and change over time. I love deep transformation work and it is a gift when clients rise to the occasion. I learn so much from my clients and I am inspired to continue holding space for folks to explore their inner worlds.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are willing and open to take risks, think outside of the box, build their emotional tolerance, share their perspective and practice vulnerability to get to know themselves better. I work best with clients who are honest with themselves exactly where they are in their process and who are open to trying sometime new.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients exploring their inner child needs and liberating childhood wounding or trauma. I love to see these transformations and shifts happening!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
How powerful they are when their decision making is aligned with intention and commitment and support to see their dreams through.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by nature, life’s cycles, flowers, plants, animals and the natural world. I also love human behavior and I am moved by people in their unique blueprints and life expressions. People fascinate me!
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
They are free to share what they want me to know. They can expect a level of presence and to be witnessed in their experience and met with a level of understanding. Clients can expect an unconditional space that is judgement free and accepting.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want there to be a level of comfort, trust, safety in the space, accountability in the dynamic and the courage to express what is real and true in the moment. From there, the growth builds on the foundation of therapist client relationship.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Healing and transformation is led through your own pacing. I am here to meet you exactly where you are. There is never any pressure to be different than you already are in any given moment! It is my job to allow the flow of what needs to unfold in the container. Knowing that it is safe to rest into your own level of comfort is key! Nothing can be rushed and it is important to know that you are enough- in your own timing.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to travel. I am excited when I get to see new places for the first time. I love to connect with the land. It reminds me of my impact and how to see the world through fresh eyes. Traveling enhances my senses and connecting with family and friends or exploring the unknown places I have yet to see brings me joy. Much like traveling to my inner landscapes as well! I also have a dog named Meraki that I love so much. We have fun adventures together.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am an advocate for animals and children. They are always in the forefront of my mission and purpose here. I believe in equality and allowing all voices to be heard and listened to. I am also a firm believer that we have the power to ripple through generations to shift the collective and offer powerful paradigm shifts. It all starts with us!
