My name is Nina Kelly, LMFT. I pursued a career as a psychotherapist as I love to help others. I graduated with a M.A. in counseling psychology in 2005. While pursuing my masters degree, I worked extensively with teenagers' families with anger management issues and a variety of clients in individual therapy.

I have a kind and direct approach when working with clients. It's important that my clients feel heard and understood. I strive to create a safe space so that they feel like they can trust me with their most painful thoughts.

Meeting with a new therapist can be scary. Please know that I am genuinely here to help you. I come from a kind empathetic non judgmental place. I look forward to hearing from you.

"Life can be overwhelming at times, especially when transitions, trauma or life changes occur. I am trained in Self-Focusing work. I can help you look within yourself and cope in a healthy way in order to make the changes that you need. I have an empathetic and direct approach.Helping others is my passion."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I love helping others.

What types of clients do you work best with?

Individuals.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

When you find the right therapist it can help people to release shame. Working on ourselves in therapy can help us to think in a more healthy way by accepting who we are and or changing distructive patterns.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

My clients will feel validated and listened to. I want them to feel that I have compassion for them.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I would like my clients to feel respected.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I listen to where my clients are coming from and what they are telling me g me. Then I think of the most effective approach to use with them.
