About Erica
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 13 years of experience supporting adults through their mental health journeys. My background in nursing has shaped my compassionate, holistic approach to care, and I strive to see and support the whole person, not just the diagnosis. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy to help clients achieve balance, stability, and confidence as they navigate life’s challenges.
I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Maryville University. My approach integrates evidence-based treatments with therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual’s goals and needs. I believe in building trust and collaboration, empowering clients to take an active role in their healing.
I’m passionate about helping clients find relief, understanding, and renewed hope. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, or other challenges, I provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard and encouraged to take steps toward lasting mental and emotional wellness.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories—their struggles, strengths, and the experiences that shape who they are. Throughout my nursing career, I saw how deeply mental health affects every part of a person’s life—physical health, relationships, and overall well-being.
Becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner allowed me to combine my love for science and medicine with my passion for human connection.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults who are navigating mood disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and OCD—especially those who are ready to engage in their mental health journey and seek a collaborative approach to healing. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to understand themselves better, explore coping strategies, and develop tools to manage symptoms in their daily lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew about therapy and mental health is that healing is not linear, and progress often comes in small, meaningful steps. It’s normal to have setbacks, doubts, or days that feel harder than others, but each step—no matter how small—counts toward your growth.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session, we’ll focus on understanding your mental health history, current symptoms, and previous treatments, including any medications you’ve tried. I’ll conduct a thorough psychiatric assessment to determine what might be contributing to your challenges and discuss potential medication options. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about medications, side effects, and what to expect from treatment. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel informed and supported from the start.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is deeply informed by both my professional journey as a nurse and my personal commitment to compassion, empathy, and holistic care. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how mental health challenges—like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD—affect not just the mind, but relationships, physical health, and daily functioning. These experiences reinforced my belief that every client deserves to be seen, heard, and treated as a whole person.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe that mental health care is not one-size-fits-all. I tailor therapy and treatment plans to each client by first listening carefully to their story, goals, and experiences. Together, we identify what’s contributing to their symptoms, whether it’s anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, or OCD, and determine the best combination of medication management, therapeutic techniques, coping strategies, and lifestyle support.
