About Princess
Hello, my name is Dr. Princess Francois. As a doctoral-prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I am deeply committed to understanding the human experience and providing compassionate care. With over 10 years of nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings, I bring a well-rounded perspective to patient care. I focus on medication management for psychiatric diagnoses and am dedicated to helping individuals achieve mental health stability and symptom relief with professional, evidence-based strategies.
I recognize the complex challenges that affect individuals' daily lives, including stress, anxiety, depression, repetitive behaviors, psychosis, obsessive-compulsive thoughts and behaviors, anger, and other psychological difficulties that can disrupt one's ability to function. I firmly believe that these challenges do not define who you are.
My approach to treatment is highly individualized and person-centered. Your mental health is important to me, and through a collaborative partnership, we will determine the most effective treatment plan to support your well-being.

"I firmly believe that genuine caring starts with listening attentively."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to pursue a career as a psychiatric provider to help improve the healthcare system, where compassionate care is often overlooked. My goal is to listen actively and support individuals in effectively managing their mental health care needs.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I am able to work effectively with individuals of all ages.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
The healing process is a journey that necessitates patience, faith, and hope. Throughout this journey, it is crucial to maintain your optimism about what you aim to achieve through treatment. Staying focused on your goals can help foster resilience and encourage progress.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The initial session with the client is crucial for understanding their needs. Clients should expect questions and are encouraged to ask their own, as this fosters a collaborative partnership.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Caring is incredibly important. We all need more people who are willing to extend compassion and truly try to understand others from their experiences. Life is not simply black and white; there are countless shades of grey, and each one tells a unique story worth listening to.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
As a medication management provider, I ensure that the prescribing of medications is highly individualized and tailored to the client's specific presenting symptoms. While psychotherapy may or may not be part of the plan, motivational interviewing is always included as a fundamental component. When individualized therapy is necessary, I will promptly place a referral for that service.
