About Medinat

Dr. Medina Balogun is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with full practice authority whose graduate education allows her to prescribe medication with integrated therapy. She manages and treats a wide range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, sleep/insomnia, and trauma. Medina is passionate about providing quality, compassionate and comprehensive mental health to adults and geriatric patients.


As a DNP, Medina's role is multifaceted as she practices with evidence-based practice, as an educator, mental health advocate, therapist and medication manager. She completed her Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice at Frontier Nursing University and her doctoral studies on improving mental health care for hospice patients. In addition to medication management, Medina incorporates integrative care through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, culturally sensitive, faith-based, motivational interviewing, person-centered techniques into treatment.
