Director, Special Projects

Responsible for overseeing the projects that drive Thriveworks’ business forward, Ellen plays a key role in both the operational and clinical aspects of the business. Prior to joining Thriveworks, Ellen worked for non-profit organizations advocating for the well-being and safety of children. A licensed attorney in the state of Virginia, Ellen is a graduate of Liberty University Law School in Lynchburg, VA.

Stephen Meyers

Vice President, Operations

As vice president of operations, Steve is responsible for the business development and operations functions of Thriveworks Counseling, Thriveworks Administrative Services, and Credentialing.com. Before joining Thriveworks, Steve served as vice president and general manager of DJP Limited (a computer software development and applications firm), vice president of sales and marketing for the hematopathology and nephrology divisions of Bostwick Laboratories (a multinational anatomic and clinical pathology laboratory services company), and director of communications for Skanska (a global civil engineering, construction and development company). In addition to his experience in industry, Steve has served as an adjunct professor of business management and organizational behavior at Old Dominion University. Steve received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in general management from the Mason School of Business at The College of William & Mary and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Longwood University.

Marc Brooks

General Counsel

In his role as General Counsel, Marc oversees and manages all aspects of Thriveworks' legal affairs, including litigation, corporate matters, regulatory compliance and risk management. Prior to joining Thriveworks, Marc served as Senior Director and Associate General Counsel at IQVIA, a leading global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions, and contract research services to the life sciences industry. In this role, he supported regulatory, contracting, mergers & acquisitions, and acted as lead attorney in some of IQVIA’s most strategic customer transactions. Marc holds a B.B.A. from Campbell University and a J.D. with a Health Law certificate from The University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Erika Brooks

Vice President, Marketing and Communications

As vice president, marketing and communications at Thriveworks, Erika is responsible for all marketing, branding, and communications activities for Thriveworks’ brands. Erika has over 15 years of experience leading both B2B and direct-to-consumer marketing and communications programs with a focus on helping companies achieve their growth and reputational goals. Prior to joining Thriveworks, Erika held two consecutive roles as the Vice President, Marketing at Retrium, a B2B SaaS company, and at Lulu.com, the world’s leading independent publishing company. Additionally, Erika has managed campaigns for international celebrities, sports icons and global brands. Erika holds a B.A. in Communication and Creative Writing from The George Washington University.

Vice President, Human Resources

As the vice president, human resources at Thriveworks, Dagen is responsible for all areas of HR with a focus on the implementation of processes and policies that keep the business running smoothly. From entry level position workflows, to stop-level strategic business operations, Dagen understands in great detail the workload and process for each support position, supervisors, and also executive team members. These insights position Dagen as the go-to for identifying, creating and implementing new initiatives. Dagen is also responsible for nurturing Thriveworks’ corporate culture which balances the need for excellence with a fun, casual environment. Dagen holds a B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Bridgewater College.

Cole Meyers

Director, Finance and Information Systems

As Director of Finance and Information Systems for Thriveworks, Cole Meyers is responsible for the development and continuation of financial controls, to include reporting, analysis and forecasting. Leveraging experience with data analysis and information systems, Cole designs and maintains analytical tools to help align financial demands with operational goals to deliver a balance of sustained value and growth. Cole’s passion for finding innovative solutions and improving business processes has led to improved efficiencies across the entire Thriveworks network. Cole holds an MBA from Old Dominion University with a concentration in finance.

Michael Reffner

Executive Director, Franchise Development & Support

In the role of executive director, franchise development and support, Michael is responsible for supporting the network of franchise owners across the country. This includes providing the initial training, leading continuous education efforts as well as being a trusted source for advice and information among the franchisees. Michael is also a franchise owner with locations in South Carolina. A graduate of Liberty University, Michael earned additional degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (MAR, Religion) and Lynchburg College (M.Ed. Coursework, Counseling) before returning to Liberty to earn Ed.S., Educational Leadership.

Head of Recruitment

As the head of recruitment, Ashley is responsible for identifying, evaluating and hiring providers from across the country. Charged with establishing and maintaining strict criteria for identifying new members of the team, Ashley is also responsible for managing talent acquisition ahead of opening new locations to meet Thriveworks’ growing demand. Since joining Thriveworks, Ashley has worked directly with the executive management team to build and implement projects to drive additional growth, including Thriveworks Associates and the new online counseling initiative. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ashley is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is currently pursuing her MBA with a focus in Human Resource Management.
