I’ve tried so many times to deal with my depression. I read the tips and suggestions about how to get out of a depression on websites, but sometimes I feel so overwhelmed. I try to do some of the things to help myself, but all I can think is that I can’t prevent this depression from coming back. I know other people don’t understand me and wonder why I get depressed—and I’m not really sure why I do, either. Sometimes my friends say to just get out there and do things with them, and it makes me feel more depressed, because it’s not as easy as that.
Instead of focusing on ridding yourself of depression, focus on managing your depression. I don’t know which “at-home” tips you’ve tried, but exercise can work wonders for your mental health and alleviate many of the symptoms of depression. Give this a try and also make an appointment to see a counselor. Therapy may be the treatment best suited for you, or maybe antidepressants will prove to help. In either case, a mental health professional can help and get you on the right track!
