Starting Life coaching

What is Life coaching?

Life coaching is a personalized support system that helps individuals clarify goals, develop action plans, and navigate challenges. Coaches employ effective communication and active listening to assist clients in overcoming obstacles, unlocking their potential, and achieving personal growth for a more fulfilling life.

How does Life coaching work?

In life coaching, our coaches utilize diverse therapeutic techniques that are tailored to individuals, including cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, mindfulness, and positive psychology approaches. They also utilize active listening and empathetic communication to provide a supportive space for you to explore and achieve personal goals and overcome challenges, fostering personal growth and clarity.

Is Life coaching conducted in person or online?

Life coaching with our therapists in Wyomissing, PA is conducted both in person and virtually via online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.

How long does Life coaching last?

The number of life coaching sessions someone attends can differ based on the coach and the client's choices. How many sessions are needed and how often they occur often hinges on the client's objectives and the complexity of their concerns. Some clients might opt for a few sessions to tackle particular goals or issues, while others may decide on ongoing coaching sessions to work on personal growth and life enhancement over a more extended period of time. Thriveworks Wyomissing therapists work with clients to create goals and potential timelines for treatment.

Life Coaching and Counseling – Therapists in Reading, PA

Life coaching is something you may have heard of. But what exactly is a life coach and what do they do?

Life coaches are similar to coaches in sports; but instead of teaching, training, supporting, motivating, encouraging, and empowering you to be the best athlete you can be, the role of a life coach is help you meet your expectations in life, reach your full potential, and attain your personal and professional life goals.

How Does Life Coaching Work?

Our dedicated Thriveworks Reading life coaches will help you rate your satisfaction in different areas of your life such as personal growth, physical environment, work and career, financial, health, family, and friends, romance, spirituality, and recreation, and then will help you figure out what you want your life to be like, and help you determine what is most important to you. They will assist you with prioritizing, goal setting, developing a plan, figuring out how to overcome the challenges and obstacles that stand in the way of your success, and assist you in developing strategies and techniques to help you finally reach your goals. These are just a sampling of what a Thriveworks-Wyomissing life coach can help you accomplish:

  • Making Changes in Your Life
  • Overcoming Challenges and Daily Struggles
  • Time-Management
  • Communication
  • Handling Conflict
  • Getting Along Better with Others
  • Managing Stress
  • Balancing Life Roles
  • Increasing Self-Esteem and Decreasing Self-Doubt
  • Positive Parenting

What is the Difference between Life Coaching and Counseling?

Good question. Life coaching and counseling are similar in that both help you set goals and achieve them. However, counseling helps people understand clinical issues such as anxiety or depression and helps people go from pain to healing. If thought of as a number line, counseling helps you move from negative numbers to zero. Coaching helps you move forward from zero to a 10 in life satisfaction.

I am pleased to have someone I can tell how I am feeling that I would not express to family or friends. The medication helps me to get a better night sleep and helps me feel better the following days and to cope throughout the days that follow.

I'm very fortunate to have gotten such a great Therapist Lauren Lowe. She is a very good listener and helps me with my anxiety. Lauren gives me ideas how to manage the anxiety. I see her every Wednesday afternoon and go over what has happened for the week to help me cope with things I have problems with. I look forward to see her and all the help she has given me. I rate her very highly as a Therapist.

I took my preteen child there, who did not want to go at all and after 1 session my child was willing to go back, reporting the counselor was so nice! I instantly saw a change in my child, we will continue to attend throughout the summer to continue to make progress. When we arrived, I instantly felt comfortable in this calm environment. I recommend this office to anyone.
