Hi! I’m Dr. Blythe TwoSisters and I’m known as the funky house call therapist. I’ve spent the last 4 years offering therapy via the web to mamas that couldn’t get the support they needed to attend sessions in person. Since relocating to Houston, I’ve added an in office option for mama’s that need a place to get support. I offer therapy for pregnant women, mothers and women that are trying to or have tried to no avail to get or stay pregnant. These issues can cause a strain on a couple’s relationship, so I offer couple’s counseling as well for these and other issues.
I completed a doctorate in clinical psychology and am a certified perinatal mood and anxiety specialist. I have worked with traumatic brain injury patients and those suffering from PTSD. I also have supported those with chronic pain, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.

Not sure what you need, no problem. Let’s just start by talking and see if I can help you figure out a place to start. Together we can develop a plan for feeling better and stronger and making good solid choices.

Simply, I want to help you think in a manner that brings about a better ability to cope with problems, provides a positive outlook for your life, and lets you discuss issues that many times are stuffed deep inside. Problems and challenges will always be around, but being able to cope effectively with hardships makes a difference. By creating a counseling environment that caters to a person’s heart and not just their wallet, I desire to help people realize their potential.

I counsel individuals, couples, and families who are depressed, traumatized, or angry. Also, I can help with self-esteem or encouragement about life transitions. I work best with people who are seeking positive solutions for negative problems

I have experience working with individual, couples, children, adolescents, and divorcees in various setting, including religious. For nearly ten years I served as a parent educator at the Escape Family Resource Center, a counselor at a community college, and the head of a Family Life Task Force.

I have also partnered with the City of Houston to offer marriage and family services to the southeast community. Currently, I’m in private practice. In all my work I have learned the value of reserving judgment, listening carefully and following the client’s lead; as well as, slow and carefully to make an assessment. My strengths are individual, parenting and couples issues; however, I work with clients that present various issues to include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, PTSD and mood disorders. I believe that therapy is an effective intervention for mental health; yet, there are times, temporary medications coupled with therapy benefits a client psychological health.

I work with most population to include, adults, children and adolescents using a Collaborative Team, or other therapists, if the client agrees, who make observation and offer other perspectives in session to the client about the presenting challenge.

I’m a Marriage and Family Therapists trained in the US, and have a strong interest in cultural
and family dynamics and like to explore the influence on the client.

Suzanne Hornbuckle is an experienced counselor who has worked with all ages and types of people from all walks of life. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with the State of Texas and is also a nationally certified counselor (NBCC). A lifelong student of the human personality, she presented and published her research on behavioral inhibition at Oxford University.

Suzanne’s simple premise is that people are smart about their own needs and wants. However, they have dilemmas and
issues that may trouble them temporarily. Hence, she starts with a client-centered theory that emphasizes respect for the will and desires of the client. From there, other approaches are incorporated and used as needed.
For example, as we age, we often lose that “inner voice” or wisdom of the unconscious mind. The use of hypnosis, dream analysis, art therapy and other like tools can unblock the barricades surrounding the heart’s true desires. Many clients respond to this approach, but for some, a more cognitive behavioral type of therapy may be more effective.

For others, the use of a family systems viewpoint may be in order. Suzanne is a proponent of family therapy and views each person in the context of his or her past and present environment, especially the family environment. She believes that the primary reason most people enter into therapy is to repair or strengthen relationships. As such, she incorporates these methods and others into her craft to help her clients bring more joy, love, and functionality into their relationships.
